This styled shoot was in the making for quite a while. When I first got engaged, I dreamed of a wedding in my parents backyard. Once we started on a guest list and looking at how many people we were actually inviting, my husband, parents, and I realized very fast that there was no way we could fit that number of people in the backyard.

Buried deep between the rolling hills of West Virginia, just a few miles down the road from my grandparents farm, lies a small white church. A church where my grandparents and parents got married, and where my great grandmother was laid to rest. The grounds of the church hold many childhood memories for me. I try to visit as often as I can, but there is one special Saturday I always reserve. The first Saturday of August. The church hosts their annual Chicken Dinner. The dinner has been hosted for 84 years and every year brings new memories and stories to tell. The dinner has changed in very few ways over the years, but one thing that stays constant is the good food, wonderful people, and beautiful display of desserts!
