With all of these invitation options, it is so easy to overlook important parts of invitations and that is why I always suggest using a profession stationary designer. I asked three of my favorite stationary designers to help me in getting the low down on invitations and wedding stationary!

This styled shoot turned real wedding was a dream to create. We had a submission after our model call and we read a story of a husband and wife who got married quickly and never got the chance to have the wedding they really wanted. Their love story was really touching and we couldn't help but fall in love with their submission. All of the vendors jumped at the chance to plan a REAL wedding for them! This shoot quickly turned into the real life husband and wife's dream wedding--minus the guests. We had everything from the altar, a head table, the cake cutting, and we topped the night off with champagne bottle popping and a first dance for the lovely couple.

There couldn't have been more love that filled the room when these two shared their first dance. Janet and Daniel are truly a special couple and their love will go on for ages. The two of them exchanged vows at the historical Boone Hall Plantation grounds, right under the Avenue of the Oaks. This wedding was filled with a paint ceremony, lots of happy tears and tons of laugher. This was definitely one for the books for Purple Dress.

Creating this 1940s lakeside elopement was so much fun. I love that I was able to use a lot of color into this day! Fun fact: we created the color scheme around the bride's beautiful departure dress. Our bride and groom started out by wearing traditional wear for their ceremony and then, for their picnic reception, they themselves into an adorable 1940s inspired couple straight out of The Notebook! Seriously, at one point, I had to remind myself that they were not Allie a Noah!

Buried deep between the rolling hills of West Virginia, just a few miles down the road from my grandparents farm, lies a small white church. A church where my grandparents and parents got married, and where my great grandmother was laid to rest. The grounds of the church hold many childhood memories for me. I try to visit as often as I can, but there is one special Saturday I always reserve. The first Saturday of August. The church hosts their annual Chicken Dinner. The dinner has been hosted for 84 years and every year brings new memories and stories to tell. The dinner has changed in very few ways over the years, but one thing that stays constant is the good food, wonderful people, and beautiful display of desserts!
